Business Mentors Programme
The Business Mentors Programme is designed to encourage
qualified mentors to provide various forms of assistance
to eligible mentees. We do not allow self selection of
our database, instead, we will hand-pick the most suitable
mentors (up to three mentors) for the mentee to contact.
The Business Mentors Programme is designed to enhance
the capabilities of the mentees and to improve their ability to
compete for big business and Government contracts successfully.
Under the programme, mentors may provide you with the
following kinds of assistance:
- Technical and management assistance
- Sources of financial assistance in the form of equity investments or
loans, where applicable
- Sub-contractual support
- Assistance in performing prime contracts through joint-venture agreements
- Expertise, resources, and business capabilities
Your Mentor should:
- Be of good character
- Be respected in the business community
- Impart value to you due to lessons learned and practical experience
gained
- Be subject to the code of conduct of a reputable professional union,
association or institute
Mentors are responsible for the mentoring agreement with
you, a mentoring agreement should:
- It must be in writing
- It must specify that the mentor will provide assistance to the mentee
for a specified and agreed time period, or project duration
- It must include an assessment of the mentee's needs
- It must include a description of the specific assistance that the mentor
will provide to address those needs
- It must state the fees that have been agreed for the mentoring programme
- It must provide for the termination of the agreement with 30 days advance
notice to the other party
Well-mentored individuals feel that they are being looked after, gain confidence
in their abilities and respond accordingly. They are often happier,
more loyal and productive as a result.
